- Have to settle for a quickie tonight, folks. Time got away from me as I the boob tube enveloped me in its tractor beam. Both the M*A*S*H finale and "The Empire Strikes Back" were on at the same time tonight!
- My lawn mower is out of commission - I think the throttle control is out of whack. Adjusting the coil-spring did no good. Apparently I am able to work on computers all day but 2-cycle engines are lost on me. It died on me as I was about to cut my front yard yesterday. The back yard looks great; the front, not so much! Now, how to fit it in my car's trunk to make the trip to the repair shop? Stay tuned, people!
- The Cardinals' ship has been listing to port all week. They lost 2 of 3 series but got back on track this weekend, beating the Tampa Bay (don't call us Devil) Rays at home 2 out 3 games. Injuries are beginning to creep in oh-so-ominously. Closer Izzy has been banished to Florida to recover his psyche and maybe some of his pitches, too, who knows? Center fielder Ankiel's shoulder is reportedly sore. Local sports scribes are clamoring for the appearance of someone named Joe Mather from the minor leagues team. I hope Don Tony can hold the team together.
- What can (Big) Brown do for you? Only win the first two races of the Triple Crown. He looks like the real deal but Pimlico has been the undoing of many a great horse, so we'll see in three weeks. No horses expired after the race yesterday so PETA had nothing to complain about. No more than usual, that is.

bummer on the lawn mower but i want to see pictures of it in your trunk! that should be fun. just to add to the adventure of the day, take chili with you to the lawn mower repair place. heehee
go cards...rise form the muck and mire and once again sit atop your division! shame on you john!
as for big brown if UPS can't deliver no one can! he looked awesome in the Preakness...dare i whisper the name secratariet? (which i can't spell, but can say, hence the whisper)?
The mower fit really nicely in my trunk once I removed the entire handle from top to bottom. No pictures, sadly. The mower is not salvageable, unfortunately. It would cost more to fix than a new one would cost so I've got a nice new Sears Craftsman all picked out. I will leave the old one by the side of the road for some charitable soul to pick up for free.
I wasn't dissing the Cardinals with that little blurb! : ) I was just noting that the waves crashed a little harder on their little ship this week! They've got guts and enough good players to stay with the pack if not lead it.
