O, Samsung A707 "Sync" - you came into my life in the Fall of 2007 on a Saturday. Chili-dog rather rudely chewed up your predecessor LG phone and I had to replace it quickly. You were a good phone, a phone for all seasons. You were the phone that I used to initiate text messaging with the lovely Renee Simms and the one I used to inform friends and family when we got engaged recently. Alas, you began to show your age a few months ago when you suddenly refused to charge your battery. If I'd not had an identical phone around to use as a charger (only its screen was broken) I'd have traded you in.
Over the weekend, I officially defected from AT&T Wireless. I was running without a contract and with a need for a new phone. Renee is a Verizon Wireless customer who started a new contract with a new phone last Fall. My next move was obvious. Making her pay an early-termination fee for her contract to move to AT&T might have resulted in an early-termination of our engagement! So, I am now a Verizon customer on the family share plan with her and her mom. And I am now the owner of an
LG Ally Android smartphone. Life is indeed good.
