There's no substitute for the real thing...

(studying Genesis 16-17 - the story of Sarai and Hagar)

- in the lecture, the teaching leader ( white male, mid-30s) made his first point: "Whenever a Hagar is substituted for anything, nothing good ever comes of it. Case in point: Van Halen." That was almost as funny as the night he dropped a "can you smell what The Rock is cookin'?" in the middle of a lecture a few years ago. Coming from a straight-laced Christian attorney-type, it was unintentionally hilarious.
