The infamous Tim Conway elephant story...

One of the funniest bits on the infomercial for the Carol Burnett Show DVDs is the scene with Tim Conway telling a story about an elephant that breaks up the cast. Someone has posted the entire scene on YouTube complete with an outtake so you can now see....the rest of the story.

That was always the best part of the Carol Burnett stuff... how they genuinely cracked each other up.

Absolutely! That was the genius of his comedy...he was fearless, confident in his ability and he just took that bit and ran it as far as he could.

ah but you missed the real star of that scene. vickie lawrence was the master of that whole skit! with five or six(depending on how you want to spell...."little") she finished them all off. hats off to vickie. i'm gonna send this on to kev. he loves a good carol burnett moment!

I thought about that too...that whole scene built up to that moment and it's like she blew it up with the perfect ending line.

This is funny, but not the original version of the elephant skit.
The original was from an earlier Carol Burnett show.
Actors were Tim Conway, Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman and I believe Lyle Wagoner.
The older version was shorter.
The deadliest part of this was Conway obviously adlibbed his entire monologue and Burnett KNEW what was comming and still couldn't avoid breaking up.
